ZOWIE KENGOCHA – PROJECT | A COLORS SHOW
New Jersey-born, Nairobi-raised Zowie Kengocha is a singer, Producer and songwriter who has been quietly developing a modern alternative style for East Africa that seamlessly fuses traditional R&B components with contemporary sounds to create a seductive R&B sound with percussion from all around the continent. Her soulful vocals and compelling stage presence are her biggest assets in addition to her sincere lyrics and melodies that connect listeners on a deep level.
Her unique music embodies a mix of R&B with sprinklings of indie-pop, and dance music. Her wide variety of artistic expression is evident in the chilling runs and catchy melodies that she sings over well curated dance, alti, and RnB beats. Zowie is an endearing artist who has a ton of crossover appeal and may be the big-time international sensation Kenya has been waiting for.

Having garnered a buzz in Nairobi’s underground circles with the release of early single ‘red flag’ in 2021, the rising songstress went on to keep the momentum going with the release of ‘space’ the same year. In 2022, Zowie upped her quest in music with singles ‘Nightshot’ and ‘KISS’. Earlier this year (2023), Kengocha dropped ‘Touch’ her first single of the year before following it with her debut EP ‘You Never Learn’. The Ep was released on the 15th of April 2023 and it had 6 tracks. The Ep showcases the artist’s versatile range of infectious melodies and poetic songwriting.
