Known to many as Meryl Paige Diva, Meryl Paige is a powerful Kenyan R&B and soul singer, songwriter, producer, and vocalist. She is a true and real definition of musical talent and musical versatility as her voice resonates with soulful richness and emotion depth. Meryl Paige‘s love for music begun at an early age – 2 years old – and over time it grew. Drawing her inspiration from listening to the music greats – Yvonne Chakachaka, Brenda Fasi, Celine Dion, Mariah Carey just to mention a few – made her interest flourish.
MUSIC BACKDROP
In primary school Meryl Paige got exposed to different kinds of music and her joining both the school and church choir played a major role in her musical journey. In one of Meryl Paige‘s interviews, she remanences her days in Moi Girls Secondary School, where she could sing as a juke box and other students would pay her to sing. This helped her sharpen her vocals and build courage as she would sing along or lip sync other musicians songs. After secondary school Meryl Paige joined Sauti Academy just to learn more and develop herself as an artist and this according to her was a big stepping stone to the success she has achieved and more she is planning to achieve.

captivating live performances ability also makes her exceptional not forgetting her vocal range, heartfelt songwriting skills and her lyrical prowess that cuts deep into her audience’s souls it’s evident enough of her dedication to her craft. Being in the industry for over 8 years, Meryl Paige had her eyes on live music performance and event organizing as a business, so she founded her own gigs – Lovers & Friends and Soul Tactics – which helped her and other singers and songwriters grow their careers by offering a platform to showcase their talents and give Kenyans an opportunity to sample different genres of talented Kenyan artists. Meryl Paige is passionate about creating safe spaces for women and performing artists.

In 2018, Meryl Paige made her musical debut by releasing her much anticipated first single “Regret”.
The reception for this single was great impacting Meryl Paige to follow up with a second single ”Dear X (When its cold)”, feat Anariko.
On March 17, 2020, Meryl Paige released her debut album “Super Ego”. Describing this masterpiece, Meryl Paige noted that societal views and biases is something she has struggled with, even in her music writing. As an artist, Meryl Paige noted that she would like to be respected as a person, as a voice and even when she is doing music literally for the purpose of entertainment, but the ‘super ego’ holds her back. That’s where the name of the album came from. Releasing the album it was subliminal to the fact that she is releasing and freeing herself from those constraints and struggles. The album had 9 tracks.

In 2020 Meryl Paige was part of Waithaka‘s all-female Kenyan album ‘Ode by Queens‘ – a project she’s very passionate about. The Album 10 had tracks and it featured numerous female singers and vocalists from Kenya.
