Mejja, Boutross, Trio Mio, Groovy Jo, Kakuma Sound, DJ IV – amongst other Kenyan acts set to perform at 8th Edition of the Nyege Nyege Festivals in November 2023.

Nyege Nyege Festivals makes a return following a challenging 2022 edition. The festival which is known as Africa’s essential music and arts festival, returns for its 8th edition in an exciting new location for four days from Thursday, November 9th, 2023, to Sunday, November 12th, 2023, across 7 stages. Upon the invitation of the Mayor of Jinja and the Jinja City Council, Nyege Nyege Festivals will take place on three conjoined sites along the Nile River: The Jinja Golf Course, Source of the Nile, and the Jinja Showground. With over 300 hotels, the city has enough accommodation for all budgets of all guests just minutes away from the venue indicating that camping will no longer be available on site but will offered by partnering hotels. With over 500 shows internationally, the festival and its associated labels and collective have defined the vanguard of new sounds emerging from the Continent and the festival is widely considered to be the greatest showcase of traditional and contemporary African music in the world, attracting music fans and industry movers and shakers to come and discover new music genres, breakthrough artists and blossoming talents at every edition.

 

 

A two-day East African music conference will kick things off on the 7th and 8th of November before the music starts up on Thursday 9th of November 2023 until Sunday 12th of November 2023. Organizers while announcing the line up said that, audiences will be taken through a wide variety of electronic music genres, with artists from Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, South Africa, Mali, Malawi, Cameroon, Ghana, Rwanda, Algeria, South Sudan, Angola, Mauritius, Saint Lucia, DR Congo, Finland, USA, France, Japan and Germany across 7 different stages.

 

 

 

Tickets are on sell now on the Nyege Nyege Festivals website. Die Hard tickets are already sold out both for EA Citizens, Ugandan Foreign residents, and International residents. Early Bird tickets are going for 160k (Ugandan Shillings) or 6.5k (Kenyan Shillings) for EA citizens. Ugandan foreign residents will have to pay 200k Ugandan Shillings which is equivalent to 8k Kenyan Shillings for the Early Bird tickets and International residents will have to pay 120 USD. Advance tickets are going for 200k Uganda Shillings which is equivalent to 8k Kenyan Shillings for EA residents while Ugandan Foreign Residents will pay 240k Ugandan shillings which is equivalent to 10k and  International residents on the other hand will part ways with 150 USD for advance tickets.
