Janet Otieno, Nadia Mukami celebrated by Ababu Namwamba during Trace Awards & Festival Tour Kenya edition.

On the 31st August 2023, Trace Awards & Festivals had their Kenya edition tour at the Milan in Westlands area Nairobi, in a colorful event. Led by Danny Mucira – Trace business in East Africa Managing Director mandated with rolling out the full suite of Trace products in Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda and Ethiopia -, the tour was meant to celebrate the nominees from Kenya. In the upcoming Trace Awards and Festival which will be held on the weekend of  20th to 22nd October 2023 in Kigali, Rwanda, Kenya will be represented by two nominees in two different categories. Nadia Mukami – known for her shines, energy in Afro-pop, valuable releases and performances which has earned her a strong fan base and a rising star status in Kenya – will battle it out with other African female superstars under the Pan-African Categories (Best Female Artist). Janet Otieno – who is an award winning Kenyan gospel star and icon with uplifting songs that resonates widely in the gospel community – on the other hand will face a stiff competition from other gospel greats from Africa under the Pan-African Categories (Best Gospel Artist).

 

The two – Nadia Mukami and Janet Otieno – were the center of the tour as the event was meant to celebrate them alongside with industry leaders, stakeholders and influencers. The highlight of the celebration was when the Cabinet secretary for Youth Affairs, Sports and the Arts in Kenya Honorable Ababu Namwamba E.G.H graced the event by his presence. The CS acknowledged the recognition of Trace Awards & Festival and added that the nominees from Kenya represents a big win for music and arts in Kenya, East Africa region and Africa at large as their talents are now under the radar of the world music scene. Everyone who graced the event from the CS Ababu Namwamba, Trace Managing Director East Africa Region Danny Mucira, influencers, brand ambassadors, guests to the day’s master of ceremony Calvin Wanguku, all were in a celebratory mood as they kept on encouraging everyone to vote for Janet Otieno and Nadia Mukami to enable them bring home the prestigious Trace Awards & Festival wins in their respective categories.

 

The climax of the celebration came when Nadia Mukami gave an electrifying performance. The venue busted into cheers and the audience could be heard singing along to her songs. This without a doubt was evident enough that in deed she is one of the best female artists in Africa as recognized by Trace Awards & Festival. As the voting process is ongoing, all eyes will be on the final results during the award ceremony to see if Nadia Mukami and Janet Otieno will emerge victorious.
