Nairobi Festival second edition.

Get ready to immerse yourself in the magic of The Nairobi Festival at Uhuru Park!

The Nairobi County under the leadership of the now Governor Johnson Sakaja announced the second edition of the prestigious Nairobi Festival. This comes after the success of the first edition which was held at Uhuru Park from the 12th of December to the 16th of December 2022.  This year’s Nairobi Festival is promised to be the biggest one yet according to City Hall. While making the announcement they promised to make the event bigger and better than last year’s.

Backing up this promise by City Hall, Governor Johnson Sakaja added that he Festival will be held after the December 12 Jamhuri Day celebrations and it will bring together food, arts, matatu art awards, as well as exhibitions on designated city streets. The governor added that the county will set aside some streets to display culture, food, creativity, have the “nganya” awards for the best done matatus, have rugby, football and basketball tournaments and other activities.

Content creators have all reasons to smile about now after the governor directed the amendment of “archaic” laws which he said have inhibited photography, videography, film and the creative industry in Nairobi. “When we say we want to be pro-business it is not just passive to stop harassment of traders but we want to be proactive to facilitate and promote. There are many archaic laws including those that hamper creativity and innovation and we are going to weed those out,” he said.
