Since its inception around 1899, Nairobi has grown from its humble beginnings as a railway camp to the bustling metropolitan it is today. Through the years, Nairobi has a rich history that showcases the journey from inception till today. Nairobi’s skyscraper Global Trade Centre (GTC) launched “My Great Nairobi” a photography, exhibition campaign, on the 27th Thursday, April 2023, aimed at commemorating the evolution and development of Nairobi since independence. Another aim of the exhibition is also to celebrate the city’s rich history by showcasing Nairobi’s skyline, its people, architecture, landmarks, road networks and infrastructure, the rich culture and more.
GTC announced a photographer’s challenge that will run from Monday 26, 2023, until October 6, 2023, on the “My Great Nairobi website”. The primary objective of the photographer’s challenge lies in elevating the talents of photographers across the country. Their creative prowess will take center stage at the “My Great Nairobi” Gallery.
How to participate
Participation requires entrants to recreate up to 13 images from the Mo Amin collection, infusing their own artistic expressions. Submission is through the “My Great Nairobi” website (www.mygreatnairobi.co.ke). A panel of judges will meticulously assess and select the most captivating and innovative photographs.
