Born Jacob Obunga on March 21, 1994, in Kisumu and raised in Miritini, Mombasa, Otile Brown is one of the best R&B singers, songwriters, guitarists, and actors from Kenya in Africa and the world. Announcing his upcoming album, the “Baby Love” hitmaker took it to his Instagram stories threatening to quit music if the project flops. “I got too much game on my upcoming album, real-life experience, and ish #rawwww….it has to make it to at least top 3 best albums in Africa – just to be fair – else I am quitting music”. For a period of time, Otile Brown has been in the spotlight from his fans for not releasing music as he used to. In response, the musician said those people who think his music is not good just because it’s not trending, are not the type of fans he wants by his side, “I got something to offer, don’t think you will play with me. If you had enough of me then I’ma dip gracefully”.

His debut album “Best of Otile Brown”  was released in April 2017 and it was a trend setter as it introduced him well into the music scene. The album was propelled to success by the lead single “Imaginary Love” which he featured Khaligraph Jones. On June 3, 2020, Otile Brown released his second studio album “Just in Love Album” which proved that he is not only one of the best musicians in Kenya, but also the most outstanding R&B artist in Africa. The success of “Just in Love Album” was massive and the collaborations included artists from different genres both in Kenya and Tanzania.

Now Otile Brown has his fans full attention turned to his upcoming album which he hinted will be dropping next year, “see y’all next year”, he wrote on his Instagram story. In addition to when the album will be dropped, Otile Brown also gave his fans a hint of who will be part of producing the project, Eric Musyoka and Cedo Kadenyi – two of the producers in Kenya with international recognition -. “Was on phone with @ericmusyoka yesterday and he is ready to help make my upcoming album a success. @cedo_kadenyi I need your help too, I’ll reach out. Any other sound engineer y’all think i need to add? Please put me on via DM”. In his defense of threatening to quit music if his album flops, the musician said he is a genuine person and he is not blackmailing his fans for support, adding that he is not clout chasing and the love he shares with his fans is real, “Never tricked a fan for love/support, that’s why I don’t do KIKI ….. the love I share is raw and genuine”.
